Maria Adams Thweatt December 14, 1946 – March 06, 2019 Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Maria Adams Thweatt was born in Augsburg, Germany on December 14, 1946 to Zigi and Jeane Adams and passed away in Richmond, Texas on March 6, 2019. Her German name was Audrone Marija Abramaviciute. Zigi was Siegmund Abramavicius and Jeane was Genovaite.

Maria became a US citizen on February 19, 1963 along with her family living in San Manuel, Arizona. She attended University of Arizona and later Houston Baptist University. She obtained her Texas Teacher Certificate in 1981 and then filled her life with her passion for teaching children.

She taught first, third and fifth grade at Huggins Elementary for over 30 years. Teaching gave her much fulfillment in life and she touched so many with her excitement for learning, including her own daughters and grandchildren. Maria was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Victor Adams, and her sister, Helen Adams Mansager.

She is survived by her daughters, Katherine Ehler and Laura Sykes, her son in law Steven Sykes, her grandchildren Ethan and Ellie Sykes, and her brother Andy Adams and his wife Carol, and nieces and nephews as well as many close friends. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Graeber Road Church of Christ, 1910 Graeber Road, Rosenberg, TX 77471 at 11 am.
