Maria (nee Guida) Palmitessa, 79 of Old Bridge, NJ passed away Sunday, January 13th, at her residence peacefully with her family by her side. Maria was born in Naples, Italy on July 13, 1939, a daughter of the late Louisa (Esposito) Guida and Girolamo Guida. She lived in Brooklyn, Long Island and Staten Island, NY prior to moving to Old Bridge, NJ 15 years ago.

Maria is predeceased by her husband Nicolo Palmitessa in 1986, and her sisters Annunziata, Rose and brother Lou. She is survived by her loving children Louisa Palmitessa, Sandy Romanelli, Rose Palmitessa and Frank Palmitessa. Also surviving are her cherished sister Grace and brother Ralph and devoted grandchildren John, Christina, Dominick, Michael, Nicholas, Jenna, and Francesca, great grandchildren Joseph, Steven, John, Michael and Aria Jade and one great great grandson Jaxson.

Visitation will be held 2 PM to 5 PM on Wednesday, January 16th at Day Funeral Home in Keyport, New Jersey and then again from 6 PM to 9 PM. There will be a final visitation from 9:15 to 10am on Thursday morning followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph’s RCC, Keyport. Entombment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
