BROAS—Ms. Maria Carolina Broas, age 51 of Jacksonville, FL passed away on September 29, 2018 following a lengthy illness. Maria was born December 8, 1966 in Rosario Cavite, Philippines, the daughter of Alfredo Broas and Zenaida Nadal Broas. She was a graduate of Forest High School and the University of North Florida.

Maria worked for many years as a project manager for First Union Bank, later Wells Fargo. She is best remembered for the loving care she gave in raising her daughter Samantha Nicole Sowell, but also as a wonderful daughter, sister, friend, and associate. Surviving in addition to her daughter and her parents are her sister Anna Broas and brother Troy Broas and his wife Donya Tucker Broas.

In honoring her wishes, memorialization is by cremation. A Memorial Mass in celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday October 15, 2018 at Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 9401 Staples Mill Rd. , Jacksonville, FL 32244.

Family members and friends will gather immediately prior to the service at the church.
