Richard William Mountain, 59, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018, after a lengthy illness. Rick was born in Atlanta, GA on August 5, 1959. He graduated from Morrow High School in Atlanta, GA, and Georgia State University.

He worked for Hormel Foods, Georgia-Pacific Corporation (where he met his wife, Elizabeth, of 26 years), and, most recently, for Penney Retirement Community. He lived in Fleming Island for the last 22 years. Rick enjoyed boating, riding motorcycles, going on cruises, playing cards, and spending time with his family both here and in Atlanta.

He was an avid fan of the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta Braves. Rick was known for his kindness and patience and was the Information Technology Manager for Georgia Pacific as well as the family IT guru for both his parents and in-laws and the Penney Retirement Community in Penney Farms, FL. Rick was preceded in death by his brother, Russell Dean Mountain, and his mother, Anna Penland Mountain.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth O’Brien Mountain; daughter Emily Middelton Mountain; son, Henry O’Brien Mountain; father, William Russell Mountain; twin sister, Vickie Mountain Kierbow; and nieces and nephews: Weslee Mountain Washington, William Matthew Kierbow, Amanda Jane Kierbow, Katie Kierbow Owens, and Matthew Thomas Kisil. A Memorial Service at Jacksonville Memory Gardens will be held February 9, 2019 at 2:00pm with a reception following at the Mountain residence: 1419 Course View Dr., Fleming Island, FL 32003.
