Selma Mae Carrell Gladin, age 91, of Lake City, FL passed away on Monday, November 12, 2018. She was born in Lake City on March 15, 1927 to David Wilson Carrell and Bertha Mable Hancock Carrell. She married Leland C. Gladin on April 25, 1953 and they shared 44 treasured years of marriage until he passed on November 27, 1997.

She worked at Winn-Dixie for many years and enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening, genealogy, and traveling. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend that will be fondly remembered for her love of caring for others. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Gladin was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, and her step-son, Leland C. Gladin, Jr She is survived by her step-son, Gary K. Gladin (Nancy); her daughter, Carol Ann Wallace (Hugh); son, Billy Wayne Plumb; son, Michael Anthony Gladin (Judy); son, William Riley Gladin; daughter, Brenda Gail Flynn (Mickey); sister, Lois Croft (Pete); brother, Pete Carroll (Vicky); 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends. Graveside funeral services officiated by Dr. Dan McLean will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Cemetery in the Garden of Last Supper.

The family will receive friends at the graveside from 1:00 PM until the hour of service.
