He was born to Santiago Ortiz and Maria Chacon on March 25, 1916 in Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents and Wife Juanita Ortiz as well as his daughters Nora Ortiz Valdez and Armida Ortiz Valdez.

He is survived by his Children Juan Roberto Ortiz and Norma Ortiz Valdez and his grandchildren Edwin Israel Ortiz and Edna Dufexis as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mariano was a devoted Christian father who lived a great life and loved to tend to his garden. He will be truly missed by all that knew him.

Services celebrating Mariano’s life will be held on Good Friday, March 30, 2018 at Life Church on 2483 W. Southcross Blvd, San Antonio, Texas 78211. Visitation will be from 10am-12pm with services to begin at 12pm. Family will then gather at First Memorial Park Cemetery for interment services at 2pm.
