Marie Jeantet was born on September 9, 1950, in Nha Trang, Vietnam. Living a great life surrounded by loving family and friends, it came to an end during the Vietnam War. Having no choice but to carry one suitcase in one hand and her one-year-old son in the other, she fled from Vietnam to Paris, France.

With no food, money, or even knowing the country’s language, Marie then found a refugee camp where she and her son resided until she found stability to survive on her own. Making ends meet by sewing at home, working in restaurants, and even running her own restaurant, Marie worked 60-70 hours a week to provide for her two children. In 1994, she flew to Dallas, Texas, promising a better life in America.

Marie Jeantet worked as a nail technician for 25 years while still coming home and loving her family: her husband, her children, and her grandchildren. In July 2018, Marie Jeantet was diagnosed with Lung Cancer Stage 3 at the age of 68. Fully aware of her diagnosis, she always kept busy cooking and maintaining the household for her family.

In December 2018, the cancer carried onto Stage 4. The Jeantet family was recommended by the doctors to start chemotherapy/radiation to reduce the chances of the cancer spreading to other parts of her body. The Jeantet family was left with a tough decision to make.

They decided to take a chance, and Marie started chemotherapy and radiation. In January 2019, she was diagnosed with DVT, a pulmonary embolism, and brain metastasis. Marie Jeantet wished to not have a funeral worrying about the expenses she would leave to her two sons.

Even in a critical health condition, she was a woman who did not put herself first. Marie was a woman who was always about taking care of others first. She was beautiful, kind, and generous.

She was a wife of 45 years, mother to two children, and grandmother of four children, and she is loved unconditionally. The Jeantet family wishes to have a funeral for her that she deserves.
