Obituary for Marie Bales DOROTHY MARIE BALES Dorothy Marie Bales was born to Clarence and Gertrude (Chapman) Moody on July 13, 1929 in Okemah, Oklahoma and passed from this life on June 21, 2018 in Ft. Worth, Texas at the age of 88 years. Marie grew up and attended school in Ravia, Oklahoma.

On January 24, 1948, Marie married Delbert Dayton Bales in Gainsville, Texas. She worked in retail for many years. Marie volunteered at Elmore City-Pernell Schools as a grandparent.

In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. Marie was a member of the First Baptist Church and loved her church very much. The highlights of her life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bales is survived by: Son: Sid Bales and wife Sharon of Elmore City, Oklahoma Daughter: Susan Sibley of Haslet, Texas 7 grandchildren: James Taylor Smith; Robert Daniel Bales and wife Erica; Traci Lynne Treat and husband Kevin; Delbert Joseph Bales and wife Tracy Jean; Jennifer Renee Chaney and husband Bryan; Kimbra Leigh Coy and husband Ezra; and Christina Wilder and husband 11 great-grandchildren: Taylor; Joshua; Isaiah; Katelyn; Kenna; Eden; Lila; Will; Avie; Isaac; and Jensen Mrs. Bales was preceded in death by: Her husband: Delbert Dayton Bales Son: Joseph Michael Bales Parents: Clarence and Gertrude Moody 4 brothers and 3 sisters Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Elmore City, Oklahoma with Rev. Danny Reed officiating. Interment will be in the Condon Grove Cemetery – Milburn, Oklahoma under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
