Marietta “Mary” (Hoyt) Pung of Lansing, Our loving Mother was welcomed into the presence of the Lord and entered into eternal life on July 11, 2018, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s (Dementia). Mary was born in Lansing, MI on March 24, 1937 to Bronson and Donna (Locke) Hoyt. Her love for her daughters and family was evident to anyone who knew her.

After marriage and children she returned to college earning a degree in accounting. When she retired in 1996, she was a Deputy Treasurer for Lansing Township. Her beautiful roses & flower gardens were a testament to her lifelong love of gardening.

She loved music and dancing. These two things were a way to reach her and make her smile, even to the end of her life. She loved to laugh, even doing so throughout her illness.

She was a very kind and sweet person and that remained up until the very end. Mary is survived by her children, Lisa Pung and Beth Pung; Grand dog, Gracie, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bronson and Donna Hoyt; infant twin daughter, Becky Pung; brothers, Donald (Frances) Hoyt and David Hoyt; sisters, Juanita (Charles) Horman and Nora Edgar; 5 nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m. on July 28, 2018, at Calvary Lutheran Church, 6301 W. St. Joseph Hwy, Lansing, MI 48917. The family is being served by the Peters & Murray Funeral Home, Grand Ledge. Online condolences may be shared at www.
