Obituary for Marilyn Grace Harres Marilyn Grace Harres (nee Siegler), 82, passed away at NHC Healthcare in Maryland Heights, Missouri, on May 14, 2018. She was born on January 17, 1936, to Harvey and Sylvia (nee Oettel) Siegler in Belleville, Illinois. Marilyn spent most of her life as a homemaker in Columbia, Illinois.

She was an excellent cook and enjoyed providing meals for senior citizens and shut-ins. Marilyn was a long time member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Columbia. She participated in Monroe County Home Extension and loved crafting and counted cross stitching.

Marilyn had a passion for traveling, especially internationally. She was one of the founding members of Sister Cities of Columbia and was active in developing the relationship with Gedern, Germany. She traveled extensively with Friendship Force of St. Louis and always looked forward to sharing travelogues of her adventures.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Sylvia Siegler, and an infant sister, Jeanette. Surviving are her daughters, Nancy Wey of St. Louis, Missouri, Lynn (Steven) McCullough of Belleville, Illinois, Amy (David) Distler of Columbia, Illinois, and Mary Beth (Michael) Kirkpatrick of Columbia, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Kori and Kendall Wey, Timothy, Daniel, and Andrew McCullough, Maggie and Alex Distler, and Nicholas Kirkpatrick; a sister, Sandra (David) Dufek of Ponce Inlet, Florida; and other relatives and friends. Private graveside services will be held at Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery, Columbia, Illinois.
