Obituary for Marilyn Schmit DeBlanc Marilyn Schmit DeBlanc passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018 at the age of 79. Beloved wife of Joseph A. DeBlanc, III for 58 years. Mother of Michael J. DeBlanc (Judy), Ronald J. DeBlanc (Shelley) and Donald J. DeBlanc.

Daughter of the late Henrietta Blakeway Schmit and Frederick V. Schmit, Sr. Sister of Gayle Gremillion and the late Lillian Gremillion, Florence Sanchez, Elward, Alvin, and Frederick V. Schmit, Jr. Grandmother of Brad, Megan, Chrisitan, Andrew, and Katie DeBlanc. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and beloved first cousin, Kenneth Diebold and ex-daughter-in-law, Mary Loupe DeBlanc. She was a parishioner of St. John Bosco Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and Salesian Cooperator.

She was also the recipient of the St. Louis Medallion from the Archdiocese. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA for 34 years. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 12 noon at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, 2114 Oakmere Blvd.

, Harvey, LA. Visitation will be held at the church from 10am until 12 noon. Interment will be held privately at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Family and friends may view and sign the online guest book at www. mothefunerals.com.
