Marilyn Susan Engskov Slavik , March 01, 1933 — June 12, 2018

Marilyn Susan (Engskov) Slavik, 85, of Nampa, died unexpectedly at a Boise hospital on June 12, 2018. A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the Franklin Community Church, 8499 US-20, Nampa, Idaho. Burial will take place prior to the service at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell at 11 AM on Tuesday.

The family will greet loved ones and friends at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Ave. So. on Monday evening, June 18, 2018 from 6:30 to 8 PM.

An online guest book is available at www. nampafuneralhome.com Marilyn, beloved wife and mother is survived by her husband, Frank Slavik; children, Dawn and David Castrucci Napa, CA and Dana and Susan Slavik, Penryn, CA; grandchildren, Tyler Castrucci, Austin Castrucci, Abigail Castrucci, Max Slavik and Kate Slavik. She was cherished by her surviving siblings; Louise Dungan, Paul Engskov, and Mark Engskov.

Marilyn was born March 1,1933 in Omaha, NE, the first child of Pearl and Gunnar Engskov. She went to Dundee Elementary and graduated Omaha Tech High School in 1951, then on to Creighton University where she earned her RN degree. Marilyn traveled to Boston in 1956 during the Polio epidemic and worked at Mass General Hospital.

Back in Omaha, Marilyn married Frank Dwayne Slavik, an electrical engineer, on October 16, 1959. Following their marriage they moved to Alaska. They welcomed a daughter in 1961, and a son in 1962.

Marilyn and Frank moved to Zillah, WA in 1973 where they purchased fruit orchards and became active members of Zillah Church of the Nazarene. In 1988 they moved to Rogers, AK to be close to Marilyn’s elderly parents. Later moving to Grants Pass, OR and then Nampa, ID.

Marilyn gathered dear friends everywhere she lived. She was devoted to her family and will be sorely missed. She practiced her faith and was an active member of her church.
