Henderson, 65, of Tipton died peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 19, 2019. He was born in Tipton on July 29, 1953 to Donald E. and Phyllis O. (Swinford) Henderson. Mark graduated from Tipton High School in 1971 and married his grade school sweetheart Donna J. Mock on August 12, 1973.

After farming with his father, Mark became manager of the Heinold Hog Market. After his father’s passing, he returned to the family farm. He also worked at Chrysler as a millwright until retirement.

Mark’s family includes three children, Jennifer L. (Micah) Hudson of Delphi, Adam W. Henderson (fiancé Amber Haggerty) of Tipton and Ray D. Henderson (girlfriend Samantha Powers) of Tipton; two sisters Susan K. (Dennis) Garst of Tipton and Sharon G. Smith of Sharpsville; brother-in-law, Roger A. (Narda) Mock of Kokomo; mother-in-law, Marilyn J. Mock; grandchildren, Emily Q., Elijah A. and Ella G. Hudson, and Baleigh Bullington; and his hound dog Remmington. He is proceeded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Donald A. Mock; and brothers-in-law, David L. DeWitt and Larry A. Smith. He was a former member of the FFA and the Mid-America Threshing and Antique Inc., a current member of the Austin Lodge #128, and attended Discovery Church of Fishers.

In his spare time, Mark enjoyed restoring and collecting Minneapolis Moline tractors; announcing and participating in the Tipton County tractor pulls; gardening; woodworking; fishing; and operating the sawmill. Pa was very proud of his family and loved spending time with them having cook-outs, riding 4-wheelers and teaching his grandkids how to drive, shoot, and fish along with sharing lessons of life and faith. The family wishes to thank Dr. Diane Andrews and staff and St. Vincent Hospice – Kokomo.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Porter Funeral located at 726 East North Street in Tipton with Pastor Steve McIntosh officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Tipton. Visitation will be from 3 – 8 pm on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Smith-Henderson Family Fund in care of the Tipton County Foundation.
