Mark’s Obituary Robert Mark Stockton, age 65, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 16, 2019. He was born June 23, 1953 in Warrensburg, MO the son of Robert and Dorothy Stockton. He leaves behind his wife of nearly 40 years, Susan Stockton, of the home; son Jacob Stockton of Centerview, MO; son and daughter-in-law Jarod and Jenni Stockton of Kansas City, KS.

He leaves five beloved grandchildren, Andrew, Marshall, Kelly, Arabella, and Isaac Stockton; and two sisters, Mrs. Lynn (Jackie) Harmon and family, and Mrs. Charles (Judy) Yancey and family. Mark was a 1971 graduate of College High School in Warrensburg and a 1975 graduate of Central Missouri State College with a bachelor’s degree in Ag. Business.

He was born on the family farm north of Warrensburg and lived and worked on the farm ever since. He grew up attending Liberty Baptist Church and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ, Warrensburg Restoration Branch. He had several passions.

His love of sports led him to coaching basketball and baseball as well as watching his children and grandchildren play. He loved to sing and would share in special music at church and would also perform with his sisters. He loved participating as a bass singer with the community chorus under the direction of his favorite conductor, Cathi Truesdale.

He developed a fondness for coin collecting and investigating the history of various coins. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Liberty Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Greg Cleveland, Pat Cummings, Larry Morehead, Ron Fitterling, Wade Minor, and Andrew Stockton. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Weigand, Bill Ousley, and Jim and Joyce Hook, Martin Robbins, Kevin Mannering, Robert Trott, John Trott and Bill Bob Bratton. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2019 at the funeral home.
