Marlene Jean White, 73, of Niles, MI passed away at 6:48 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2018 at home. She was born on September 2, 1944 in Salyersville, KY to the late William “Cappy” and Delta (Cole) Shephard. On January 27, 2002 in Mayflower Full Gospel Church in South Bend, IN she was united in marriage to William White, who survives.

Marlene is survived by four daughters, Brenda (Ed) Harber of South Bend, IN, Trudy (Bill) Otto of Mishawaka, IN, Barbara (Mike) Saros of South Bend, IN and Michele Heath of South Bend, IN; stepdaughter, Theresa (Matt) Offenberg of Canton, GA; stepson, Timothy (Rhiana) White of Cheyenne, WY; step son-in-law, Brian Crothers of Walden Lake, MI; twenty grandchildren, Kristy (Brad) Bourden, Jake Harber, Sarah (Scott) Kovach, William (Sylvia) Otto IV, Rebecca (Javier) Robles, Martha (Chet) Syson, Stephanie (Dale) Rader, Michael (Autumn) Saros II, Kinzei Heath, Calvin Haff, Shemberly Heath, Casey Heath, Abi (Matt) Oakley, Cameron Crothers, Phoebe Offenberg, Ben Offenberg, Carisia White, Zander White, Matthew Wilson and Lillian Robinson and twenty-three great grandchildren, Sophia, Bailey, Nathan, Patrick, Analia, Gabi, Jésus, Wesley, Noah, Isiah, Kayla, Jacob, Jordan, Carter, Landen, Ryian, Bella, Ally, Aleah, Anna-Lynn, Ja’Sean, Alexander and Lacy. Marlene worked as a head server at Marriott and later as press operator at Nyloncraft. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Palmer Funeral Home, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend, IN Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour before services at the funeral home.

Graveside services and burial will follow at Rolling Prairie Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Marlene may be offered to Quit Smoking American Lung Association. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.
