Martha’s Obituary Martha Alma Stump, age 89, of Wakarusa, died at 3:35 p.m., Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Wakarusa after a long illness. She was born September 2, 1929 in Bremen to Perry and Emma (Kauffman) Tschupp. Martha graduated from Wakarusa High School.

On July 31, 1950 she married Richard L. Stump. She had worked for Joni Furniture and Comfort Sleep. Martha enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, canning, and singing in the church choir.

She attended Wakarusa Church of the Brethren. She is survived by her husband, Richard Stump; daughters, Linda (Charles) Myers, Wakarusa, Sherry (John) Lambert, Wakarusa, Brenda Jernstrom, Elkhart; 9 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 9 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Stump; and brothers, Lowell and Myron Chupp.

Private Graveside services are being planned. Memorial contributions may be given to Center for Hospice Care in Elkhart. Arrangements are with Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Wakarusa.
