Obituary for Martha Helen Arnett Martha Helen Arnett, age 92, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 7:05 a.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Redbanks Nursing Home under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. Helen worked at the CBS Dress Factory and Maurice worked just down the street at JC Penny. One day she walked in to try on shoes and the rest is history.
They were married on October 11, 1952 and started a family soon after. Helen stayed home for many years as she raised her children. When the children were old enough, Helen went back to work.
She worked for a few years at Dicks Finer Foods before returning to Kusan Plastics, where she worked before she had children, until retirement. Helen was a member of First United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. Every day she enjoyed walking with her group of friends from the Salvation Army.
Helen spoiled her family with love and affection; they were her greatest treasure. In addition to her parents, William and Jenny Groves, Helen is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Maurice B. Arnett; sisters Mabel Strader and Elizabeth Sparks; brothers Leon Groves and Leonard Groves. Helen is survived by her children: Cheri Russell and husband David of Providence, KY, Robin Arnett of Henderson, KY, Stephen Arnett and wife Dianne of Morganfield, KY, Bud Arnett of Henderson, KY; her sister Irene McKinney of Paris, KY; 7 grandchildren: Carrie Harmon, Eric Critser, Matthew Arnett, DeAnn Sneed, Kyle Hittner, Jacob Bartley, and Marissa Arnett; 11 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Helen’s Life Celebration from 10:00 a.m. until the service time on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Reverend Stanley Strader officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson, KY.
