Martha Isabell (Durst) Bittinger, 78, of Oakland, MD, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV. Born October 7, 1940, in Accident, MD, she was the daughter of the late John Gilbert and Edna Rosetta (Durst) Durst. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Selby Lawrence Bittinger and her son-in-law, Junior Guthrie.

Martha was a homemaker. She loved collecting family memories. She is survived by her daughter, Glenda Guthrie, Oakland; four grandchildren, Christopher Guthrie, Christine Guthrie, Tonia Guthrie and Sonia Moreland; eight great grandchildren.

Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A. 1100 Memorial Drive, Oakland, on Friday, December 14, 2018, from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m. Services will be held following visitation in the funeral home chapel at 12:00 p.m. with Reverend Paul Goldizen officiating. Interment will be in the Bittinger Family Cemetery, Swanton, MD. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Hospice of Garrett County, P.O. Box 271, Oakland, MD, 21550.
