Obituary for Martin David Greer GREER, MARTIN DAVID, beloved husband, father, son, and friend passed away suddenly of natural causes December 11, 2018 in Louisville, KY. Born February 13, 1961 in Louisville, son of Mary Eileen (Sweeney) Greer and the late J. Marcus Greer Jr. Marty was a devoted family man and gave ‘100% times two’ in all his endeavors. An industrial engineer, he worked at Wright Patterson AFB for many years and more recently was Director at the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

Marty was a proud alumnus of Trinity High School and the University of Louisville, as well as an involved parishioner at St. Michael Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by J. Marcus Greer Jr He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Lisa (Harpe) Greer; daughters Heather (Greer) Blakeman (Austin), Michelle Greer, and son, Ryan Greer, brothers, Mike Greer (Jen) of Falls Church, VA, J. Marcus “Mark” Greer III.

His great passions in life were his family (including their four-legged members), water-skiing and sports, cheering on the Trinity Shamrocks and Cards, and mechanical tinkering. Visitation will be held at the Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road, East Louisville in Middletown from 3-8pm on Friday, December 14, 2018. A mass service celebrating Marty’s life will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church , 3705 Stone Lakes Drive, Louisville on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 11am, with luncheon to follow.
