Marvin A. Mantz, 73, of Slatington, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Whitehall Manor. He was the husband of Linda A. (VanBlargan) Mantz of Slatington; they were married on November 16, 1973. Born in Rockdale, he was the son of the late Earl and Stella (Snyder) Mantz.

Marvin worked as a custodian for the Northern Lehigh School District for 18 years, retiring in 1994. He was a US Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. Marvin was a member of the Allen O. Delke American Legion Post 16, Slatington and of the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter; Cindy S. and husband Douglas J. Greene, Jr; son: Daniel J. Mantz both of Slatington; Grandchild: Douglas J. Green, III; Sister: Madelyn Mantz of Emmaus. A memorial service will be held at11 A.M. on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St, Slatington, with the Rev. Bruce Kramer officiating.

Calling hour 10 to 11 A.M. Military honors to follow service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Compassus hospice, c/o the funeral home.
