Marvin “Marv” L. Gooding West Branch, Michigan Mr. Gooding 70 passed way Tuesday April 24, 2018 at his home with his loving family at his side following a brief illness. He was born in Flint, Michigan on September 15, 1947 to the late Howard & Ardith (Martin) Gooding. He married the former Phyllis M. Knepfler on October 13, 1969 in Midland, Michigan, she survives him.

Marv was retired from G M after 35 years of service working in Saginaw until 1987 transferring to Defiance, Ohio. … Read More » After his retirement he fulfilled his life dream and became a over the road “Trucker”. He enjoyed vacationing and being with his family.

His close friends knew him as “Smufty” and admired his ability to find humor in any situation that he encountered. He is survived by his wife of 48 years and their children Tammy Gooding and Todd ( Kathy) Gooding; 4 grandchildren Nick, Allison, Reece and Taylor; 2 great grandchildren Aiden and Ella; 2 brothers Doug (Joyce) Gooding and Jeff Gooding; his fur buddies Emme, Rylee and Belle. He was preceded in death by his sisters Gennie Gooding and Carol Gooding.

Honoring Marv’s wishes cremation has taken place and arrangements were entrusted to Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-STANDISH CHAPEL. The family would like to extend their heart felt gratitude to Heartland Hospice and especially to Whitney, Frances and Liz for the compassionate care given to Marv and them.
