Mary Alice Porter, 81, went to be with the Lord, Friday, April 20, 2018. She was born in James, Texas on September 13, 1936, to Marshall and Bernice Jordan. Mary graduated from Marshall High School.

She studied nursing at Jefferson Davis Hospital School of Nursing and Texas Women’s University. She continued on to receive her Master’s Degree. She regularly attended Braeburn Valley Baptist Church.

She was always ready to serve and help in any way she could. She truly loved God and the people he placed in her life. She will be greatly missed by us all.

Left to cherish her memory is one daughter, Alison Williams (Neal) of Searcy, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Kelly Garner (Roger), Russell Williams, and Nathan Williams; two great-grandchildren, Myka Looney and Caleb Pettis; nieces, and nephews and a host of extended family. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Garland Porter Jr.; one son, Stuart; and one sister, Lavonne LeFort.
