Bennettsville Mrs. Mary Allen Clark Bowen, 88, passed away, Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at her residence after an illness. Born May 13, 1930 in Bennettsville, SC. She was a daughter of the late Jessie and Margaret Ora Wilkinson Clark.

She was the widow of the late Albert Bowen. Together they were the owners of Bowen Grocery in the Berea Section of McColl. She was a member of the Bennettsville First Church of the Nazarene, where is was involved in many capacities of the church.

She also worked with the voting at the community center for many years. She did volunteer work at Marlboro Park Hospital. She was retired from Sara Lee Hosiery, where she was the quality control checker.

She loved shopping with her daughters and granddaughter. She was also proud of her three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was a loving and caring mother for her family.

Mrs. Bowen leaves behind to cherish her memory; daughters, Marilyn Bowen Rogers (Drake) of Clio and Teresa Bowen O’Tuel of Hamlet, NC; sister, Avis White of Wallace; 3 grandchildren, Kevin Williams (Lisa), Patrick O’Tuel (Marlo) and Heather O’Tuel; 4 great grandchildren, Bowen Williams, Chase Williams, Dawson Williams, and Hunter O’Tuel. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband listed above, along with her brothers and sisters. A funeral service will be held 2:00pm, Sunday, November 11, 2018, at Burroughs Funeral Home, with burial in Rogers Cemetery, officiated by Rev.

Bobby Norris and Hospice Chaplin Layne Rogerson. A visitation will take place Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to: McLeod Hospice 1203 E Cheves St, Florence, SC 29506.
