Mary Anne Simmons June 16, 1935 – May 14, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Mary Anne Simmons, 83, of Magnolia peacefully passed away May 14th at home. Visitation will be held Friday 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home and Saturday at East Union Baptist Church from 10:00 am to 11 am. Service will follow at 11am with Pastor Brandon Lynch officiating.

Burial to follow at the church cemetery. Born June 16, 1935 to Mitchell and Annie Laurie Dennis, Mary Anne was a native of Laurel, MS. She married Britt Simmons in 1955 and has resided in Pike County since then.

Serving others is what she loved most. Her random acts of kindness and her natural ability to make people laugh will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. She served her church faithfully as a pianist for many years.

Mary Anne was preceded in death by parents and her brother Roger. Mary Anne is survived by her husband of 64 years, Britt Simmons, brother: Byron (Anne) Dennis, sister: Jane (Robert) Grantham, children: Deborah Myers, Cindy (Joey) Allen, Mitch (Velvet) Simmons, grandchildren: Laurie (Adam) Steele, Joy (Lee) Bedsaul, Amy Evans, Brittany (Chris) Mabile, Tyler (Jen) Rainey, Kristin (Chealen) Martin, Travis (Ciara) Myers, and 11 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Adam Steele, Chris Mabile, Lee Bedsaul, Tyler Rainey, Chealen Martin, and Travis Myers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: The Alzheimer’s Association at act. alz.org/donate or East Union Baptist Church Building Fund.
