Obituary for Mary Barker “Happy-Do” Heston Mary Elsie Barker Heston (Happy-Do), 99, passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, November 1, 2018. Born February 19, 1919, she was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, FL and graduated from Landon High School in 1937. Mary Barker married Linden Heston on June 15, 1940 and he was the light of her life for 47 years.

Together, they raised a family of seven children including Richard Heston (Peggy) of Lake City, FL. , Mary Lynne Heston Marohn (deceased), Melanie Collins (Rick) of Florahome, Fl, Nancy Lovely (Danny-deceased) of Jacksonville, FL, Lin Heston (Lanita) of Live Oak, FL, David Heston and Gary Heston (both deceased). Happy Do has 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Happy-Do taught us how to live by her example! She lived one day at a time and her life was full of love, joy and determination. Her door was open to anyone who needed a hug, or a listening ear and the candy dishes were always full.

Please join us for a celebration of Mary Heston’s life at Englewood Christian Church, 4316 Barnes Road, Jacksonville, FL 32207, Saturday, November 10,2018 at 2pm. Pastors Richard Heston and Pete Ramsey officiating. Family will greet friends and family one hour prior to the service.
