Mary Carolyn Stiles 81, of Lansing, MI passed away peacefully on January 3rd, 2019. Carol, her preferred name, was born in Nashville, Tennessee on Sunday, March 14, 1937. She moved to Michigan and worked at Oldsmobile where she retired from.

She lived in Michigan and raised her family while also enjoying the company of her grandchildren and neighbors. Carol enjoyed her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces, nephews and their children and grandchildren. She found joy… Read More » in knitting and crocheting.

She was always ready to share her skills with anyone that wanted to learn. Carol spent time in her gardens, watching the birds at her many feeders. She taught all the kids in the family to feed cookies to the many squirrels in her yard.

Carol had a genuine love for her dogs and had four as companions: Tiny, Teddy, Zoey and Jasmine. She was the best Mom, grandmother, aunt, friend and neighbor always welcoming everyone. She enjoyed late night ice cream and talks with Brooke her young neighbor.

Carol is survived by her daughter Vickie Campbell (Duane) of Clarklake, MI; her grandchildren Amber and great-grandchildren Hanna and Hayden, granddaughter Melissa; daughter Kathy Alshinnawi of Fowlerville, MI; her grandchildren children Shareef (Fatimah) and great-grandchildren Alina and Aden; Grandson Kamil and great-grandchildren, Elijah, Mariah, Zade, Gabriel, Karami and Kamil Jr (little bit); son David Patton and grandchildren Lauren and JD. Carol is also survived by her brothers Louis and Ronnie and sister Dot of Tennessee and her sister Shirley of Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her husband James, her parents, sisters Jane, Ann, Evelyn, and Sue as well as brothers, Thomas and Robert all of Tennessee.
