Mary E. Merken, 88, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, December 14, 2018. She was born Mary E. Meleski on August 14, 1930 in Bayonne, New Jersey where she was raised. She moved to Keansburg in 1955 before settling in Hazlet, New Jersey in 1958 where she raised her family.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, Stanley and Teresa (Driscoll) Meleski, her beloved husband, Allen C. Merken, Sr., her sisters, Betty Zajac and Terry Meleski, and her sister-in-law, Eleanor Geisler. She is survived by her loving children, Lois Muhaw and her husband Bob of Howell, New Jersey, Allen C. Merken, Jr. and his wife, Bernadette of Holmdel, New Jersey, Jill Merken and Bud of Castle Rock Colorado, and Paul S. Merken and his wife, Francine of White House Station, New Jersey, her dear brother, Stanley Meleski and his wife, Dolly, her sisters-in-law Doris Leahy and Jean Mowbray, her adored grandchildren, Kenny Muhaw and his wife, Darlene, Gabrielle Merken, Amanda Massey and her husband, Michael, Anastasia Merken and Jake Merken. Mary will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 8:45 AM to 9:30 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey, 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733. Interment will follow at Shorelands Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Highway 35, in Hazlet, New Jersey.
