Obituary for Mary Ellen Tyree Mary Ellen Wills Tyree, age 98, of Mechanicsville, Virginia, and formerly of Millboro, died Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at The Hermitage in Richmond. She was born January 4, 1920 in Huntington, West Virginia to the late George and Mary Saunders Wills. She was a retired secretary for CSX Transportation Railroad Police.

Mary was a member of Windy Cove Presbyterian Church in Millboro, the Clifton Forge Women’s Club, and the Busy Bee Homemakers Club of Millboro. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Bernard Tyree; three sisters; a granddaughter, Katheryn Ann Tyree; and a great grandson, Shawn Milburn. She is survived by a daughter, Regina Southers Hale and husband Jim of Mechanicsville; a son, Lee Tyree and wife Pat of Clifton Forge; three granddaughters, Kimberly Milburn, Terri Lynn Hodson, and Jennifer Lee Sayre; four great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Rob Sherrard officiating. Inurnment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge.

The family will receive friends on Friday afternoon from 12:00 PM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home and other times at the residence of Lee and Pat Tyree, 1015 Cliftwood Circle, Clifton Forge, VA. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Windy Cove Presbyterian Church, 102 Windy Cove Rd. , Millboro, VA 24460.
