OBITUARY Mary Hollier Briggs December 19, 1928 – November 16, 2018 Mary “Piggie” Hollier Briggs, 89, of Nederland passed away November 16, 2018, in San Augustine, Texas. She was born December 19, 1928 in Port Arthur to the late J.D. Hollier and Zelamie Gonsoulin Hollier. Mary was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland.

Mary’s dedication to her family and devotion to her faith were evident to all who knew her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland with Father R.E. Oakes as celebrant. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home, 4841 39th Street, Port Arthur. Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, John W. Briggs, and infant son Guy Justin Briggs. She is survived by 5 sons, Jeff Briggs of Groves, Jody Briggs and wife Susan of Vidor, Johnny Bob Briggs and wife Nanette of Orange, Martin Briggs and wife Lynelle of LaBelle, and Patrick Briggs and wife Evelyn of Fannett, 4 daughters, Bridget Hartje and husband Lynn of Bertram, Beth Merren of Port Neches, Bonnie Briggs of San Augustine and Mary Kay Boudreaux and husband Jim of Nederland; 22 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and many others that held a special place in her heart.
