Mary J. Sobina, 91, of Kent, passed away Saturday January 26, 2019 at Altercare of Stow after a brief illness. She was born February 10, 1927 in Oil City, Pa where she resided with her family until moving to Ohio. Mary was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Kent and was a retired supervisor from the Oak Rubber Company.

After her retirement she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was so full of life and brought much joy and laughter to all who knew her. She is survived by her daughters Mary Ann (Melvin) Dennis of Kent, Barbara (Mark) Oberholtzer of Texas City, Texas, her grandchildren Jennifer, Mark and Jeffery and six great grandchildren Maddie, Savanna, Mackenzie, Kylee, Tanner and Ben and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son John David and her six siblings. At her request, cremation has taken place. Memorial calling hours will be Friday February 8, 2019 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Saturday February 9, 2019 at St. Patrick’s Church in Kent, Ohio. Internment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick’s Church 313 N. Depeyster St. Kent, Ohio or a charity of the donors choice.
