Mary Ruth Slaughter, 69 of Kent passed away Monday March 18, 2019 at her home in Kent. She was born January 28, 1950 in Norton, Virginia to the late Tony and Ruth (Williams) Slaughter. Mary has lived in Kent the past six months and was formerly of Ravenna.

She enjoyed doing ceramics, crafts, crocheting and reading. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Bill Hanft, Jr. and sisters Ann Mullins, Jackie Slaughter and Carolyn Slaughter. Those left to cherish her memory are her children Tonya (Charles) Pierce, Richard Cain Tony Miller, her grandchildren Sara, Mary, Leah, Logan, Maria, Tovah, Mackenzie, her great grandchildren Isaac, Isabella and her siblings Betty Peebles, Tony (Mary) Slaughter and Charlene (Ron) Seal.

Calling hours will be from 5-8 PM Friday March 22, 2019 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel where funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday March 23, 2019.
