Mary Jane Hartman, 74, of Shippenville passed away Monday, June 04, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family and her Pastor following an extended illness. Born May 29, 1944 Mary Jane was the daughter of the late William and Thelma Bonar. Mary Jane graduated from McGuffy High School.

She worked as a secretary at Valley Camp Coal, Womeldorf Trucking Co. and Beckwith Equipment. On August 12, 1975 Mary Jane married Gordon Hartman who survives. Mary Jane served as the secretary and treasurer at the Shippenville United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed reading, traveling, golf, visiting with family, NASCAR races and watching the Pirates. Along with her husband Mary Jane is survived by a son Gary (Lisa) Hartman of Kossuth, three grandchildren Natalie (Jeff) Wiant, Nate Hartman and Aimee Hartman all of Kossuth; two sisters in law Sherri Bonar of Claysville, PA and Dianna Hovis of Franklin and a special friend Carol Linden of W. Palm Beach, FL. Mary Jane is also survived by her nieces and nephews Elizabeth Jolley, Brent (Brenda) Bonar, Lori (Myron) Mansfield, Dan (Christine) Bonar, Brandon Bonar and Jessica Bonar.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Mildred Jean Jolly, a brother William Bonar and two brothers in law Richard Hovis and Charles Jolley. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday June 7 at the McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home Inc., 504 East Penn St., Knox and 10:30 to 11 am Friday, June 8 at the Shippenville United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am Friday in the church with Pastor Keith Deihl officiating.
