Mary L. Piffner of Marissa, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at her home, having attained the age of 80 years, 4 months and 2 days. Born in East St. Louis, Illinois on October 18, 1938, she was the daughter of Harry John and Lucille Marie Schuler, nee Eccles. Mary was a retired social worker and a member of the Randolph County Genealogical Society.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her brothers, Harry Schuler, Robert Schuler and Richard Schuler. Surviving are her son, Robert Piffner of Marissa, Illinois; her brothers, James (Sue) Schuler of Troy, Illinois and Thomas Schuler of Belleville, Illinois; her sisters, Janice Tesar of Dupo, Illinois and Elaine (John) Boron of Belleville, Illinois, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and her dear friend Shirley Waidman of Belleville, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Belleville Area Humane Society.

A private graveside service was held. The Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
