Mary Lee Blackburn Elliott, age 75, of Broadway, NC, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Duke University Medical Center. She was born in Richmond, Virginia on August 12, 1943 to the late George Anderson Blackburn and Elsie Bell Venable Blackburn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin James Elliott; two sisters, Irene Salmon and Betty Ann Bennett; two brothers, William Morton Blackburn and David Franklin Blackburn.

Mary is survived by sons, Ricky James Elliott and wife, Bobbie of Broadway, Jessie James Elliott of Broadway; daughter, Mary Annette Stapleton and husband, David of Sanford; brothers, James Edward Blackburn of Cameron, Charles Gordon Blackburn and wife, Linda of Sanford; sisters, Wilma Bunnell of Sanford and Susan Varner of Sanford; sister-in-law, Ernestine Blackburn of Sanford; grandchildren, Jennifer Kennedy, Cassie Richárd, Ricky Lee Elliott and Jessica Elliott; great-grandchildren, Hailey Whitley, Gracie Whitley, Jonah Kennedy, Stella Richárd, Adrienne Elliott, Lilly Elliott, Henry Elliott and Christian Elliott. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 14, 2018 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Church of God of Prophecy. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM with Pastor Vernon Riggins officiating.

Burial will be in Rocky Fork Christian Church Cemetery.
