Mrs. Mozelle Cockman Cooper, age 85, of Sanford, NC, died Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Kingswood Nursing Center in Aberdeen. She was born in Moore County, NC on August 2, 1933 to the late Burl Cockman and Mary Garner Cockman. Mozelle was one of 15 children.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ollie James Cooper; daughters Theresa Kay Thomas, Patty Lorraine Rivera; and numerous brothers and sisters. Mrs. Cooper was a homemaker and a very active member of Swann Station Baptist Church. She loved gardening her flowers and listening to gospel music.

She is survived by sons John D. Cooper and wife Susan of Olivia, James Edward Cooper of Burgaw, Jerald Lee Cooper and wife Angel of Broadway; daughter Joyce Williams and husband Willie of Sanford; brother Ralph Cockman and wife Pearl of Robbins; sisters Estelle Patterson of Carthage, Janie Moore of Robbins; 17 grandchildren and 15 plus great-grandchildren. Her funeral service will be held Monday, December 31, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Swann Station Baptist with Rev. Russell Blackmon officiating.

The family will receive friends one-hour prior to the funeral service in the church fellowship hall. Burial will follow the funeral at Morris Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Swann Station Baptist Church, 7592 NC Hwy 87, Sanford, NC 27332.
