Obituary for Mrs. Mary Lou Cribbs age 84, of Starke Mrs. Mary Lou Cribbs age 84, a resident of Starke since 1975 passed away in Keystone Heights Thursday, October 25, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was born July 4, 1934, in Deland to Arthur C. and Irene D. (Benton) Holloway and was a homemaker. Mrs. Cribbs is a Christian of the Methodist faith whom loved reading the Bible and attending church.
Being outside working in the garden or planting flowers would always bring much happiness to Mrs. Cribbs, plus she was known for having a “green thumb”. Mrs. Cribbs also enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles but most of all she loved spending time with her family; she was always a loving, kind and forgiving mother and her family loving called her “The best mom”. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cribbs was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Joseph W. “J.W.” Cribbs, Jr. along with a grandson Cae Bedwell, a granddaughter Sarah Cribbs and a daughter in-law Dianne Cribbs.
Survivors are her children Betty (Mike) Cowart, Eddie Cribbs, Joey (Gloria) Cribbs, Darlene (Steve) Kinlaw and Kelly (Glenn) Stairs. Mrs. Cribbs was also known as “Granny” to her grandchildren Bradley Bedwell, Angie (Kenny) Birch, Michael Cowart, Allison (Roger) Jury, Beverly Cribbs, Matthew (Christen) Cribbs, Sebastian (Niki) Kinlaw, Kattie (Jeremy) Wellman, Emily Kinlaw, Roger (Heather) Underwood, C.S. Underwood, Jennifer (Calvin) Ross, Ben Cribbs, Daniel Johnson, Jr. and Nathaniel Stairs as well as her great grandchildren Austin Bedwell, Jake Bedwell, Avery Cribbs, Zoey Kinlaw, Hunter Underwood, Brooklyn Underwood, Austin Underwood and Ashley Underwood. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 28, 2018, between 5-7 p.m. at Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home in Keystone Heights.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday. October 29, 2018, in the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel in Keystone Heights with Pastor Jimmy Scott officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Bostwick Cemetery.
