Obituary for Mary Louise Maxey Mary Louise Maxey, 90 of Estero, FL went to be with her Lord Wednesday, April 4, 2018. Mary did not experience any pain, as her last day was filled with her and Toms normal daily activities including a sunny day at the pool. She was born September 16, 1927 in Pocahontas, AR a daughter of the late Irvin Rufus Valentine and Glenda Ryburn Valentine.

Before Mary was swept off her feet by her husband Melvin, she was active with the USO where she enjoyed dancing. When Mary’s kids were young she made sure to be involved in their life. She was an upstanding den mother during their time in Cub Scouts.

As the children grew older, Mary kept up with her maternal instincts by committing herself to their churches nursery. Something that never faded was Mary’s love for crafts and the chance to make something for someone else. Surviving are Mary’s husband, of 60 years, Melvin Thomas Maxey; 2 sons – Gerald Maxey of Moorsville, IN and Jeffrey Maxey of Danville, IN; daughter Glenda Erickson of Fort Myers, FL; 6 Grandchildren Audra, Chad, Anna, Neil Erickson, Nathanel & Adam Maxey.

A memorial service will be held April 21st at 10am at First Baptist Church of Estero, 20300 Trailside Drive, Estero, FL 33928. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to The Gideons International Foundation or First Baptist of Estero. On line condolences may be made by visiting www.
