Obituary for Mary Mann Mary K. (Kirby) Mann, age 72, of Otwell, Indiana, Passed away at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018, at her home. Mary was born at Washington, Indiana February 12, 1946 to John Luther and Eunice (Stephenson) Kirby. Mary graduated from Washington High School Class of 1964.

Mary was a Certified EMT, and retired from the Skilled Care Unit at Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper. She was always a helping and caring person. She enjoyed watching TV and talking on the phone to friends and relatives.

She loved her pets, she would feed and nurse kittens back to health. AND HER SPOUSE John W. Mann, age 75, of Otwell, Indiana, passed away at 5:37 a.m. Sunday, July 8, 2018, at Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper. John was born on February 25, 1943 at home in Boone Township, Indiana to Linus W. and Eva Mae (Sendelweck) Mann.

John attended Boone Township Grade School and was a graduate of Ireland High School class of 1961 and Purdue University. He retired from the Indiana Desk Company where he worked in the engineering and design department. He recently retired from Wal-Mart where he worked as a greeter.

John was an amateur radio operator and local sky warn member. He was the president of the Dubois County Genealogy Society. Mary and John Mann were married on September 30, 1967 at the Methodist Church Parsonage in Washington, Indiana.

They just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last September. Surviving Mary Mann are two brothers; James Kirby, Jefferson City, MO and Daniel P. Kirby (Sally), Cottage Grove, OR. Seven nieces and four nephews.

Preceding her in death are two sisters; Dorothy L.(Kirby) and Elsie J. (Kirby) Gray. Two brother-in-law; Earl G. Rowland and Robert Gray and one sister-in-law, Rose M. Kirby. Surviving John Mann are two brothers; Linus E. (Bud) (Lucy) Mann, Jasper, IN, and Daniel E. Mann (Darlene), Otwell, IN Two nieces and two nephews.

Also surviving are three Godchildren; Janel Verkamp, Schellville, IN Amanda Watkins, Loogootee, IN John D. Mann, Otwell, In Preceding John Mann in death are one brother, David H. Mann who died infancy. Funeral services for Mary and John Mann will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boone Township, (6483 W. 580 N., Otwell, IN 47564). Friends may call one hour before services at the church and will continue after services at the bereavement lunch at the church.
