OBITUARY Mary “Mimi” Ellen Paxton September 11, 1953 – October 14, 2018 Mary Ellen “Mimi” Mire Paxton Beautiful Mimi passed away peacefully in her sleep and entered into her eternal rest on October 14, 2018, her loving and devoted husband, Keith, the love her life, by her side. She was born in Baton Rouge on September 11, 1953. Mimi enjoyed watching old movies and traveling the world with her husband during his tenure in the Air Force.

One of her proudest moments was being awarded the Hodding Carter Award as the Outstanding Junior Year Student at Southeastern University. She loved her parish of St. Aloysius and spent many hours in daily prayer. She can also now be joined by the other two loves of her life, Lily the Labrador and Samantha the Samoyed at the the Rainbow Bridge.

Those left to cherish her precious memories are her husband of 44 years, Keith Paxton; three sister, Phyllis Mire Entremont (Churck), Betty Mire Lyons, and Denise Mire Cole (Mike). Also, surviving Mimi is her mother in law, Billie Paxton Hultgren; her brother in law, Dickie Paxton (Karyl) and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Mimi was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth (Melancon) Mire, and her sister Patsy Mire.

Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. , Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 6:00pm-9:00pm. Visitation will resume at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2025 Stuart Avenue, Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 10:00am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am, followed by gravesite ceremonies at Greenoaks Memorial Garden.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the St. Joseph Hospice and Carpenter House Staff for their special care and thoughtfulness.
