Obituary for Mary Ruth Baehl Mary Ruth “Ruthie” (Stallings) Baehl, passed away Monday, September 17, 2018 at her home. Ruthie was born May 13, 1941 in Owensboro, KY to the late Charles and Mary Frances (Smith) Stallings. She was an active member of St. Wendel Catholic Church, the St. Ann’s Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John and the Ladies Sodality at St. Wendel.

Ruthie worked as the school secretary at St. Wendel Grade School for over 30 years before retiring and enjoyed playing cards with several different card groups. Surviving Ruthie are two daughters, Jennifer (Gregg) Romershausen of Ft. Branch and Julie (Ted) Elpers of Evansville; grandchildren, Tyler Elpers, Jarrett, Kenn and Mitchell Romershausen and brothers, Mike (Kirti) Stallings, of Dallas, TX, Charles “Bill” (Diana) Stallings of Evansville, Thomas (Margarita) Stallings of Havelock, NC and Jon (Phyllis) Stallings of Mt.

Vernon, IN. In addition to her parents, Ruthie was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Bernard Baehl; by a granddaughter, Meghan Elpers and by two sisters, Eleanor Mae Brill and Patty Stallings. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 24, 2018 at St. Wendel Catholic Church, Rev.

Ed Schnur officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Wendel Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until 7:00 PM on Sunday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be memorial service conducted by the church at 4:00 PM.

Friends may also visit with the family from 9:30 AM until service time on Monday at St. Wendel Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO; to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN or to St. Wendel Catholic Church.
