Obituary for Ronald Ray Goebel Ronald Ray Goebel, 72, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at his home. Ron was born December 10, 1945, in Evansville to the late Harold and Edna (Tafel) Goebel. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and attended Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

He had worked as a probation officer and employment counselor in Evansville. Ron enjoyed amateur radio and was a very talented photographer. Surviving Ron are his wife of 46 years, Vella (Johnson) Goebel; a daughter, Gretchen Ohstrom of Lehigh Acres, FL; son, Jonathon (Marlene) Goebel of Hilo, HI; three grandchildren, Jackson Goebel, and Emilia and Nathan Ohstrom; two sisters, Carol Ann Lantaff and Betty Jo (Joe) Reine, both of Evansville, and a brother, Robert Goebel of Knoxville, TN.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 24, 2018, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Rev. Bernie Etienne officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, where the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites.

Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until 4:00 PM on Sunday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street and from 9:30 AM until service time on Monday at Holy Rosary Church.
