Mary Ruth Smith November 24, 1936 – November 30, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Mrs. Mary Ruth Smith, 82, of Cedar Grove passed away Friday, November 30, 2018 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Stanford officiating the service.

Interment will follow in Hickory Flat Cemetery in Cedar Grove. Pallbearers who will serve are Jeremy Jackson, Michael Rogers, Noah Rogers, Ashley Ingram, Randall Anderson and Charles Stanford. The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Sunday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Monday from 10:00 AM until time of service.

Mrs. Smith was born November 24, 1936 to the late Harley Stanford and Lou (Hunley) Stanford. She had retired from the Publix Shirt Factory and was a member of Hickory Flat United Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edwin “E.W.” Smith, a grandson, David Jackson, five brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by two daughters, Paula Rogers (Bryan), Teresa Jackson (Keith), and one son, Tim Smith (Sheila), all of Cedar Grove. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Jeremy Jackson, Michael Rogers, Noah Rogers, Ashley Ingram, Kelly Courtney and five great grandchildren.
