Obituary for Mary S. Laurie Life long Staten Islander Mary S. Laurie, 86 of Ocean Breeze, passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018, at Staten Island University Hospital North in Staten Island, New York. Born Wednesday, January 13, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Margaret Shorrock. Mary was a graduate of McKee High School.

She worked for many years before her retirement as a secretary for the Domino Sugar Company. Mary was a strong and independent woman. She was a survivor of Hurricane Sandy.

In her spare time, she enjoyed watching soap operas, going to the beach, boating and was an avid cat lover. Surviving is her daughter Darlene Delvecchio; her sons, Gary, Richard, and Burt Laurie; her siblings Clara Clubberly and Ted Shorrock, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
