Obituary for Mary Smith Green Mrs. Mary Smith Green, 73, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Palmetto Health Tuomey. Born in Lee County, Mrs. Green was the daughter of the late Charles Hubert Smith and the late Margaret Putnam Smith. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Donald Smith.

Mary was a longtime active member of Bethesda Church of God, sharing her love of the Lord with youth as a Sunday School teacher for more than 40 years. Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Richard Gaston Green, Sr.; her son, Richard “Richie” Green (Maria), her daughters, Margaret “Mardi” Green (Heather) and Allyson Strickland (Marty); her sisters, Linda London and JoAnn Rooks of Lee County; her brother, Luther Smith of Lee County; 3 granddaughters, Nicole Henderson, Amanda Green, and Alisa Strickland; and 2 great-grandchildren, Mitchell and Addelynn Henderson. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethesda Church of God, with the Rev.

Al Sims officiating. The family will receive friends at the Green home, 905 Perry Blvd. , after the memorial service.
