Mary’s Obituary Mary V. Stacknick, 88, formerly of Lake Winola died peacefully Monday evening at Abington Manor in S. Abington Twp. Born in Lake Winola, she was the daughter of the late Victoria Ryan and Steven Stacknick. In her early years, Mary enjoyed all aspects of life at Lake Winola.

Including swimming, ice skating, fishing and farming. She often spoke of baby-sitting for the Rodham family who had a summer cottage at the lake. Mary attended the Falls-Overfield Grade School, prior to moving to Clarks Summit for her high school years Class of 1948, where she enjoyed participating in the girl’s baseball and basketball teams.

After high school, Mary relocated to Stamford, Connecticut and played baseball for the Stamford Nutmegs Woman’s baseball team from 1949-1950. At this time she returned to Northeast Pennsylvania, settling in Green Ridge and working the counter at the Green Ridge Drug Store. In 1963, Mary relocated to Lake Wallenpaupack and worked for Mt.

Airy Lodge in customer service until 1968 when she returned to Clarks Summit, working at Tommy Lynn’s Bar and Restaurant until she retired in 1992. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of the Snows Parish in Clarks Summit. She deeply appreciated the service and care provided by the staff and management at Abington Manor.

The family also recognizes the personal efforts of Ms. Barbara Weidow during Mary’s period of care. Mary will be remembered for her love of family and friends; enjoyment of the outdoors; sports, especially the Yankees; her trips to Cape May with Barb; and for her easygoing, live-in-the-moment spirit. She is survived by a sister Mae Raudenbush of Ephrata, PA.

Her son Joseph Battista of Hatfield, PA. , Grandson Matthew Battista and wife Chrissie Manning of Middletown, NJ, Granddaughter Kathryn Battista and husband Anthony and Great grandchild Lucas Landolfo of Havertown, PA. Four nieces Joanne Lee, Deborah Raudenbush, Marcia Brown, and Beverly Stacknick, Five nephews Donald Stacknick, Kenneth Stacknick, Ronald Stacknick, Robin Raudenbush, Brian Raudenbush, and Steven Stacknick.

7 Grandnieces and 9 grandnephews. Mary was preceded in death by her Mother Victoria Ryan and Father Steven Stacknick, her brothers Stephen, Clement, and Louis, and sister Rose Jones. A memorial mass will be held at a later date from Our Lady of the Snows Church.
