Obituary for Mary Virginia Weldon North Hampton, NH – Mary Virginia Weldon, late of North Hampton, and Dataw Island, SC, passed away on November 4th in hospital with her family. She was born in 1930 to J. Dalton Cahill and Bertha M. Cahill of Haverhill, MA. She attended Newton Country Day School and Connecticut College.

She was married to the late James P. Weldon in 1953 in Andover MA. They relocated to NH in 1960. Mrs. Weldon fostered an inclusive and comfortable home that was a hub of activity for children and grandchildren, extended family, friends and neighbors.

She was a loving mother who nurtured her family, and welcomed everyone into her home with kindness and respect. Along with her husband, she was an active member at Abenaqui Country Club in NH and the Dataw Island Club in SC. She actively cultivated her gardens, collected cookbooks and was a skilled bridge player in many bridge clubs with friends.

Mrs. Weldon leaves behind her son, James P. Weldon Jr. of North Hampton, her daughter Mary Weldon Karlin of Deerfield, and two granddaughters Lily and Lucy Karlin; her son Michael C. Weldon of Portland, ME and two grandsons Liam M. Weldon and Quintin Gray; and many extended family members and friends who benefited from her friendship and kindness. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 A.M. Friday, November 9, 2018 at St. Theresa Church, 815 Central Road, Rye Beach, NH. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.

The family requests there be no visiting hours. A reception to honor Mrs. Weldon will be held after the Mass at Abenaqui Country Club, 731 Central Road, Rye Beach. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hyder Family Hospice House 285 County Farm Road, Dover, NH 03820 , or to The Jimmy Fund 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226.
