Obituary of Mary Larrivey Rome- Mary Ann (Piatkowski) Larrivey, 80, of Rome, widow of Frank, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Sunset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Boonville, where she had resided since June, 2017. Born in West Leyden on April 3, 1938, Mary Ann was the daughter of Joseph and Helen (Sosnowski) Piatkowski. Later she lived in Boonville, Rome and Verona, attending Verona High School, until 1952, when her family moved to Boonville.

She graduated from Boonville High School, with the Class of 1957. On June 7, 1958 Mary Ann was united in marriage with Frank Larrivey, at St. Joseph’s Church, Boonville. In 1965, the couple moved to Rome, where Mary Ann was employed as a secretary to the finance officer at Griffiss Air Force Base for many years, retiring in 1993.

After retirement she enjoyed serving as a volunteer at Rome Memorial Hospital, as a member of Rosewood TWIG and also volunteered at St. Paul’s Church. She and her husband loved to travel and work in their gardens. Mr. Larrivey passed away on January 7.

2016. She was a member of St. Paul’s Church, Rome, GAFB GALS, and Rosewood TWIG. Mary Ann is survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews and a very special cousin and godchild, Joanne Kelpy, who was always there for her throughout her courageous battle with A.L.S.

She is also survived by her very dear friends: Ceil Ferris, Jean Iselo, Betty Clapper, Jean Moles, Joyce Dousharm, Margaret Garbarino, Patty Domenico, Joan Nigro and Dan Reed and many more. In addition to her husband, Frank, Mary Ann was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Joseph. Her funeral will be held on Monday, October 8, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Church, Charles St. Boonville, where Rev.

Thomas Ward, pastor of St. Joseph’s Church and Rev. Robert Kelly, pastor of St. Paul’s Church, Rome, will concelebrate her Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Boonville.

There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to either Christ Our Hope Catholic Parish, 110 Charles St. Boonville, NY 13309, or to St. Paul’s Church, 1807 Bedford St. Rome, NY 13440. Her arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. Boonville.
