Obituary for Marybelle Isaacs AVON – Marybelle Isaacs, age 93, of Avon, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at Avon Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on November 28, 1924 in Shirley, IN as the daughter of Oscar and Alta (Wisehart) Broadwater. She graduated from Wilkinson High School in 1942.

Marybelle married Robert L. Isaacs on June 6, 1942 in Hattiesburg, MS. She was a devoted housewife and a member of Shirley Friends Church. Marybelle enjoyed basketball and football (particularly the Pacers, Colts, and Purdue basketball), canning, spending time with family, and cooking (she was known for her chicken and dumplings).

She loved preparing large family meals and hosting many Sunday dinners as well as family holiday dinners. Marybelle is survived by her daughters, Kathy “Delann” (Bennie) Kersey of Coatesville, IN, Roberta (Bob) Kerstetter of Fayetteville, NC, and Martha (Tim) Thornburg of Cottontown, TN; brother, Paul Broadwater of Greenfield, IN; sister-in-law, Sara Broadwater; grandchildren, Robin Cameron, Bruce Bateman, Chris Kerstetter, Peter Kerstetter, Brad Thornburg, and Shelby Thornburg; ten great-grandchildren; and ten great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Isaacs; parents, Oscar and Alta Broadwater; son, Brian Isaacs; and brothers, Robert, Milford, and Franklin Broadwater.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation, at 1:00 p.m. also at the mortuary.

Pastor Shelley Zook will be officiating. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson, IN. Memorial contributions may be made by mail to the Alzheimer’s Association, 50 E 91st St #100, Indianapolis, IN 46240, or envelopes will be available at the mortuary.
