Obituary for Harry Nelson Higgason FRANKLIN – Harry Nelson Higgason, age 62, of Franklin, passed away April 5, 2018. He was born on August 20, 1955 in Noblesville, Indiana, as the son of Harry B. Higgason and Alberta Mae (Morris) Higgason. He graduated from Greenfield Central High School in 1974.

Master Sargent Harry N. Higgason also served in the United States Marine Corps, 5th Battalion 10th Marines, 2nd Marine Division from 1974 until 1995. He worked for Republic Services in Indianapolis until 2015. Nelson loved mechanics and anything working with his hands.

He also enjoyed golfing, camping, hunting, and fishing. He is survived by his son, Jeremiah (April) Higgason, of Indianapolis; daughter, Jessicah (Chris) Fruits, of Fishers; grandchildren, Myra K. Higgason, Daxon Fruits, and Alec Fruits; life partner, Lori Golden, of Franklin; grandchildren, Bailee, Anna, Titus, and Josie Rae Phillips; niece, Trinity Kibby; former wife, Tori (Sisson) Higgason, of Fishers; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, William Judd, Alva Myrick, and Robert Higgason.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation at 7:00 p.m., with military rites presented by the United States Marine Corps.

Pastor Paul Galbraith will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to the National Stroke Association, 9707 E Easter Lane Suite B Centennial, CO 80112 or the Marine Corps League, 3619 Jefferson Davis Highway, Suite 115 Stafford, VA 22554, or envelopes will be available at the mortuary.
