Obituary of Mary Whobrey Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Whobrey, 87, died peacefully on March 10, 2018 at Haven Hospice in Orange Park, FL. Betty and her twin brother, Bobby, were born on October 30, 1930 to Howard and Gladys Cain. She grew up in Portland and had fond memories of her life there.

Betty liked to stay active and suffered from cabin fever in the winter time. She enjoyed bingo, playing cards, shopping, and going to the “boat” with her niece, Terri Cain, and friend, Nancy Holland. Although she hated flying, like most mothers, she put her fear aside and took trips with her kids to California, New York, and Florida.

New technology was not her thing but in recent years she mastered Amazon shopping and liked reading about celebrities on her Kindle! She retired from Louisville Manufacturing. Betty will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Leesa O’Leary (Tom) and Jana Whobrey; grandchildren Rob, Danny, Michael, and Michelle; brothers, Jim Cain (Sandy) and John Cain (Becky); and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, a sister, and her son, Robert Ray. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 1:30 PM at Neurath and Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, 1832 W. Market St. Visitation will be from 11 AM until time of service on Monday at the funeral home. A private committal service will follow in Cave Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to Haven Development, 4200 NW 90th Blvd. , Gainesville, FL 32606 or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 320 E. Ohio St. Ste. 500, Chicago, IL 60611.
